Preface What lies before you, in the pages that follow, is an experiment in writing, made necessary by that which is taking shape in the world. Now has come the time to change our behaviour. Now has come the time too for action. Thus do I act, by taking up the pen and the brush! Both have more power than science and technology: which of course you probably do not believe, such is the conditioning that you have been subjected to. Thus, not knowing what to write, but knowing that it was time to write, in the early morning of January 1st 2016, I began to write. What emerged from the process of not knowing, was 366 chapters – one for each day of the year – which brings together material from the three major domains of learning and knowledge: the arts and humanities; the social sciences; and, of course, science, technology, engineering and mathematics. For reasons that defy full understanding, by an act of chance perhaps, or, if you will, because of destiny, my life became tied up in all three domains to the extent that I can move freely and comfortably among and across all of them. This confers an advantage, which within the pages that follow I exploit. This book is the way it is for a reason, which one day I may discuss in more detail. To elaborate more at this stage would not be helpful. All I will say is that the book breaks many conventions and rules and that there are aspects to the style of this book that have been seen before, across thousands of years of human history, but where I will not say. You may discover, while reading, some aspects of this for yourself. What I can tell you is that the book will not be fully understood. Why this is so, you will need to discover for yourself. Moreover, it will not appeal to those who are too far gone, whose minds are beyond being reached. Some people though are ready for a book such as this one and the messages and knowledge that it carries. The work is also, simultaneously, both the result and a record of a dual creative process. That is all I intend to say. If you think this sounds strange and mysterious, this is because the book is, in some respects, strange and mysterious.
