1994, ISBN 0-201-63163-6

8.1 Introduction

The aim of this chapter is to explore in some depth what we mean by interdisciplinary design, and how this relates to the Enterprise Design process. The concept of interdisciplinary design will be illustrated by means of a simple design study. Later in the book, in Chapters 10 and 11, we will examine and address the interdisciplinary design of computer-based technologies to illustrate the concept in operation in more detail. To begin with however, we will consider why we should be interested in interdisciplinary design.
