187 papers on the topics of
e-business and e-work will be presented at the e-2001 conference
over three days starting 17 October in Venice. Areas covered
in the parallel sessions include supply chain management, e-learning,
intelligent networks, Internet applications, trust, security
and legal issues. New this year is the specially created discussion
sessions on enabling technologies such as mobility, on-line payment
systems and XML. The conference book has grown to two volumes
and there will be a poster display of research projects. A pre
conference brokerage service will help with making contacts for
project proposals, marketing or the exchange of experience on
the latest technology.
Andrea Granelli, CEO of Telecom
Italia LAB will chair the Opening and introduce keynote presentations
by Robert Lloyd, Vice President, Cisco, Stefan Pilotti, Head
of Corporate Planning, Canon Europe and Thomas Gulledge, Professor,
Enterprise Engineering Laboratory, George Mason University USA.
There are further strategic presentations from Roberto Saracco,
Director of the Future Centre Telecom Italia LAB, Simon Dyson,
Vice President Communications Sector EMEA, IBM and Freddy Tengberg,
Founder and CEO, Buyonet.

countries attended last year's conference in Madrid and at least
the same numbers are likely to be attracted to e-2001. The primary
