The European Commission's has just published the advance programme for its eBusiness and eWork 2002 (e2002) conference. The event will take place in Prague on 16-18 October 2002. e2002 provides an opportunity for projects funded by the IST Programme Key Action II, New Methods of Work and Electronic Commerce, to present their results.

The conference programme addresses topics of relevance to the development of the information society in Europe. As the title of the event suggests, the focus is on eBusiness and eWork. Topics covered include knowledge management; new methods of working and managing; legal issues; mobile eCommerce; user friendly systems; and much more.

Keynote speakers include senior executives from Microsoft Network, Oracle and EDS. Geoff Sutton, Director, MSN.co.uk, will be speaking about the future of digital marketing. John Meyer, President EMEA, EDS, will address the topic of security & privacy services - defending Europe's critical infrastructure from cyber attacks. Rosalie Zobel, Director responsible for Key Action II, will also be addressing the conference.

The Commission expects to publish the final conference programme in the autumn.

The eBusiness and eWork events are the conferences for RTD projects in Key Action II of the IST Programme. Key Action II of the IST Programme is also the primary sponsor of the eBusiness and eWork conference series. The major sponsor of e2002 is the Technology Centre, Czech Republic.
