The European Commission's autumn
conference season kicks off this October with the eBusiness and
eWork 2002 (e2002) conference, which is being held in Prague
on 16-18 October 2002. This conference deals with eBusiness related
matters. Topics covered include mobility, eGovernment, Internet
applications in the public sector, media and entertainment, technologies,
standards, and the eEurope 2005 action plan. Funding opportunities
for eBusiness related research within the forthcoming Framework
Programme Six will also be discussed.
Two weeks after the e2002 conference,
the IST 2002 event will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, 4-6 November.
IST 2002 is the conference for the whole of the IST Programme.
The conference will provide a platform for debating the strategic
research priorities for technologies addressing the information
and communication sector. Included in these are a wide range
of Internet related technologies.
Following on from IST 2002,
the European Commission will hold a major conference entitled
The European Research Area and the Framework Programme, to mark
the launch of the EU's Sixth Framework Programme for research.
The conference will be held in Brussels, 11-13 November and is
expected to attract several thousand participants and offer opportunities
for scientific debate and exchange of best practice beyond those
subjects addressed in the Framework Programme.
The eBusiness and eWork events
are the conferences for RTD projects in Key Action II of the
IST Programme. Key Action II of the IST Programme is also the
primary sponsor of the eBusiness and eWork conference series.
The major sponsors of e2002 are Canon Europe, InternetOnline,
and the Technology Centre (Czech Republic).
