New Froniers, published by Addison-Wesley) dealing with the emerging
topic of agile business practices. In 1996 he was invited by
the Financial Times in London to research and write a management
report on organizing new product development in a global automotive
industry. This report, entitled Revolutionising New Product Development:
A Blueprint for Success in the Global Automotive Industry, was
published in early 1997 and rapidly became a best seller. In
the same year, he researched and wrote a second report, published
by Cheshire Henbury and entitled Rapid Prototyping for Competitive
Advantage: Technologies, Applications and Implementation for
Market Success, that deals with these technologies from the perspective
niche marketing and customization; agility (change competency;
and exploitation of knowledge.
From 1986 to 1987 he was engaged
as a consultant to ESPRIT project 1199 to advise on the interdisciplinary
aspects of the project and to assist with project management.
In 1987 he was invited by ESPRIT-CIM to revitalise the CIM-Europe

Technical and Organizational Design of CIM Systems for SMEs)
and acted as project manager for the project. He took a leading
role in setting up ESPRIT project 6922 entitled "Computer
