Paul T. Kidd
1994, ISBN 0-201-63163-6
2.1 Introduction
In Chapter 1 we proposed
a conceptual framework for Agile Manufacturing, at the heart of
which were four core concepts, these being:
- A strategy to become an
Agile Manufacturing enterprise.
- A strategy to exploit
agility to achieve competitive advantage.
- Integration of organisation,
people and technology into a coordinated interdependent system
which is our competitive weapon.
- An interdisciplinary design
methodology to achieve the integration of organisation, people
and technology.
In this Chapter we will
take a much closer look at these core concepts and describe and
discuss some of the important issues.
